What’s Included in an eSafety Check?

When you bring your vehicle in for an eSafety check, also known as a pink slip, a licensed mechanic inspects key safety components. This includes the brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and body condition. The goal is to confirm your vehicle is roadworthy before it’s registered. Once passed, your results are sent electronically to Transport for NSW.

  • Covers brakes, tyres & lights
  • Submitted online straight away
  • Ensures vehicle is registration ready

It’s a straightforward process, but critical for road safety and rego compliance. If any issues are found, you’ll get clear advice on what’s needed. Ready to get started? Book your pink slip inspection with us today.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does a pink slip last?

An eSafety check or pink slip is valid for 42 days from the date of issue. If you don’t complete your registration within that time, you’ll need to get another inspection. It’s a good idea to complete your rego as soon as possible once your pink slip has been issued.

  • What happens if my car fails the inspection?

If your vehicle doesn’t pass, the inspector will provide a report outlining what needs to be fixed. You’ll then have 14 days to complete repairs and return for a free follow-up inspection. After this window, a new inspection and fee will apply.

  • Do I need a pink slip every year?

In NSW, most light vehicles over five years old require an annual eSafety check before you can renew registration. The renewal notice from Transport for NSW will indicate if it’s required. Newer vehicles and trailers under a certain weight may be exempt.
